MIDI recording in SMS 2013 no longer works

When trying to record a MIDI track in SMS 2013, all that happens is a blinking record button alternating with a blinking "IN" marker button above it.  I am led to believe this is a programmed virus by MAGIX because it has occurred precisely at the same time in two installations of the same product on different machines.  It is extremely suspect because my free support period has just run out and the only way to get tech support is to pay for it.  I applied the update patch to no avail.  I am very unhappy with MAGIX and will never buy any of their products ever again.  I hope you find this warning helpful.

Hi,

Most of the problems are user-inflicted. Yours probably is because my SMS 2013 records midi ok.

If you want help, ask. Give us sufficient information to help. We can't see your screen, we don't know what you did, and we don't know your setup.

If the In is blinking above the record button in the transport control, then you probably set a punch in marker and have activated Punch In. Right click on In and delete it. Then try again.

Then search for the word "Punch" in the Help manual and read up on it.
