Mercalli ProDad Video Analysis required

English:

Mercalli ProDad 4 is a great product if you look at the results but it doesn't work well in VDL 2016. I just exported a video only to find out that multiple scenes with ProDad applied showed a "Video Analysis required" text on the scene and further a large black margin was added to that scenes. See picture.

In an earlier export the scenes were correct and they weren't changed since then. It looks like some other action makes ProDad "think" it needs to be re-applied. First, I think it is very irritating that this warning screen is exported. You basically have to check your whole movie to make sure it is not infecting your movie somewhere. Second, it's unreliable if the effects are reset without changing the scene. And 3rd I have no idea where these black borders come from. It looks almost as if the stabilisation has shifted the frame.

Hi

. . . . In an earlier export the scenes were correct and they weren't changed since then. It looks like some other action makes ProDad "think" it needs to be re-applied. . . . .

The Analysis screen will reappear everytime you make certain changes eg a cut, shorten a clip etc,  however small, that the stabilisation has been applied to.

. . . . but it doesn't work well in VDL 2016. . . . .

On the contrary it works very well in VDL (MEP) 2016 providing you set the parameters correctly - I have been using this extensively on some sportscam footage in a current project I am working on.

. . . . I have no idea where these black borders come from. It looks almost as if the stabilisation has shifted the frame. . . .

Without knowing the settings used and having an original clip to analyse, it is difficult to determine the cause.

However the most obvious is that the Avoid border option has been turned off and optionally the steadiness setting has been set significantly below the level required to stabilize the image correctly.
