MEP does not display imported AVI video, only sound, but did b4

I went to an AVI I previously created in MEP 2005, and when I imported it, it briefly showed the outline of the video track, as usual, showed the progress bar, then showed updating the audio track diplay and when it's done, it have the audio and no video!
So I went to AVIDUB and re-compiled the AVI file and then it imported correctly.
Now I go back to open the same files and it's back to audio only.
Am I missing a codec?  Do I have to delete the old MEP records of the track?

Hi,

This might very well be due to a missing codec. AVI is a container format and could contain a wide variety of video and audio codecs. Make sure the right ones are present on your system. You can analyze the AVI files in question using the free software GSpot, which will tell you what codecs are required and also whether they're on your system:

If a codec is missing, try to track down that specific codec (or maybe an entire universal codec pack) online and install it.

I hope this helps.
