Memory de-allocation failed

rruiz wrote on 5/19/2019, 1:39 PM

In a clean project I loaded 7 pics of 1280x720 pixels. I tried to apply the effect of Template/ Design/ Collage> (>) 5 obj 03 and the leyend " MEMORY DE-ALOCATION FAILED Maybe system resources are low or an internal error has occured" was shown.

Please review my signature. I just bought a new video card and I think that I have plenty memory since this is a clean proyect.

Please help me

@rruiz

Hi

From your specs can you clarify :

. . . . RAM 2.147 gigabytes 32 bits/pixel . . . .

What does this refer to?

. . . . 64 GB Memory . . . .

Does this refer to the hard drive/SSD drive total space available, free space or what?

If none of the above then what do they refer to?

@rruiz

Hi

Thanks for that.

What are your hard drive(s) size(s) and free space?

The error message you received is usually an indication that the PC is running out of resources, available RAM or hard drive space and can be difficult to diagnose the cause of the crash.

Running out of resources may be caused by other programs running at the same time, eg Antivirus.

Running out of RAM due to dynamically allocated memory not being released may be the result of a memory leak and the system will run out of memory, which then causes program crashing, again this may be caused by other programs running.

Have you checked the following:

  • Windows installation is up to date and there is no pending update

  • Run a system file check - sfc /scannow - to ensure integrity of Windows

  • Updated all drivers including removing the drivers for the old video card.

  • Tested Photostory with no other programs, except essentials such as AV, running after doing a full restart of the computer - not a shutdown/power up

HTH
