Main Web Page and Mobile Web Page

Hi All,

Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong?
I thought I had finished creating my website and have been saving each page to a folder (using "Export" and saving as page name...e.g. "index.htm")

The mobile version hasn't updated on Web Designer 17 it hasn't changed/updated and is the version you see when you open it up via a mobile phone..
(Attached is a photo of the normal main page and the mobile version in WD17)

I use WS_FTP Pro to upload all my new files to my ftp Server/Web Site)

Am I saving my files incorrectly to my Hard Drive?
Why is a Mobile version not being created as I create/save the main version?
Should there be separate files for the mobile versions to upload?
I am fairly new to Web Designer 17 and up to now have been very happy with it but this has stumbled me and can't work out what I am doing wrong...

Many Thanks!

Pete

@ukjingles

Hi

. . . . been saving each page to a folder (using "Export" and saving as page name...e.g. "index.htm" . . . . Am I saving my files incorrectly to my Hard Drive?

Yes that is not the correct method of preparing the site for publishing the site.

Exporting creates all the web pages and content as a whole, depending on the template you used you may only get one HTML page the rest including mobile variants are controlled by scripting.

This example has 1 html page, the rest of the site is in the index_htm_files folder is the content and scripts

Root folder:

Index_htm_files folder

You must upload both file and folder as is to your web host.

Hi John,

Yes I was uploading both items to my site...
I think I have found a workaround answer and that is to delete the mobile version via "Website Variants" and then saving the page and uploading it.
The thing I noticed was that WD17 was not creating a mobile version of my main page as I was building it and was just getting what is in the top right photo (basic template) being saved and uploaded as a "Mobile Version"
