I see how to add reverb but no way to remove it. Had expected this common problem to be a basic program feature. ????

It all depends...

You can remove the reverb from your PROJECT simply by turning it off.

You cannot remove the reverb after you've exported the project or from an audio file you've imported.

That would be like removing the eggs after you've baked the cake.
