Magix Video Saver Version 3.0

I have installed "Video Saver Version 3.0" (sofware and capture-device). However, it seems impossible to capture VHS-tapes into "external" programs, for example Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0, through the Magix-capture-device. It seems as though I must use the Magix Easy Video Saver-software. The computer (op Windows 7) does not discover the capture device.

It might be that the driver for the device is part of the Magix software. As in, the entention of the hardware was to be used with the Magix software.

I guess you could capture it with Magix, export it out and use it with Adobe.

Yes, so I did: I captured with Magix, export it (mpeg2-files)  and use the mpeg2-files with Adobe.

Interesting point here.  It's obviously a package, but the driver is a standalone driver, included on the disc, but in device manager, when I plug in the USB converter, it gets listed as MAGIX USB Videowandler under Sounds, videos and game controllers.  Whilst your workaround is simple enough, Windows does recognise it, so it's theorectically possible to choose as an input device?  Don't have Adobe as you have, but can you set input options in it? May still not work, but worth a shot. Cheers, M o' L.
