The problem is with the avi files - the avi file format is a 'container' format not a specific video/audio format.  Inside the avi container file you can have any format you like eg mpg,divx, xvid etc.  

In your case the internal video file cannot be loaded because the codec required is not on your computer.

Use either of these free programs, Gspot or MediaInfo, to analyse a video clip to see what the codec required is. 

I personally prefer GSpot because it also tells you if the codecs are installed on your computer and if they can be 'played'
