I have just installed the 'Rescue your video tapes' MAGIX software on my laptop running 64 Bit windows 10 with a 2.5 GHz processor, 8 GB Ram and plenty of storage space (ie all of the requirements stated on Amazon) I followed the instructions as per the videos and connected my VHS. In preview the image and sound are very good, but as soon as the Transfer Video to Computer is clicked the image on the screen freezes and the whole program freezes. The only way to clear it is by restarting the computer. I have re-installed the program and made sure no other programs are running having disabled Norton. Am I doing something wrong or is there a fix for this? Reviews say it is easy and works with no issues, but that isn't my experience.

Hi

. . . . .  laptop running 64 Bit windows 10 with a 2.5 GHz processor, 8 GB Ram and plenty of storage space (ie all of the requirements stated on Amazon) . . . . .

What is your laptop full specification - see this topic for the details required?

Which capture setting(s) are you using?

Hi

It is an Asus vivobook with processor: Ryzen 5 3500u with Radeon vega mobile Gfx 2.1GHz. Radeon vega 8 graphics. Windows 10 version 2004. RAM 8GB. Hard drive 512GB.

Software: Rescue your Video Tapes version 9.

As a said, I loaded the program and drivers and connected the grabber. I opened the program and followed the instructions choosing to connect an analogue device (VHS player). The video played well on the screen while in preview but as soon as either the transfer to computer button or advanced button is pressed the program freezes. The image also freezes on the screen. The only way to regain control of the computer is to restart it.

Hope this is the information you need and can give me some help.

Thanks

Hi

I would suggest you raise a ticket with Magix Support using the Support link at the top of the page - read this guide first on how to navigate through the Support system - for clarification on the system requirements.

Looking at the specs for Rescue your Video Tapes (RYVT), the program freezing may be due to the laptop not having an onboard graphics chip, ie an Intel processor with integrated GPU, there is no mention of RYVT supporting an AMD processor or AMD Radeon graphics.

Feedback of Supports answer would be appreciated.
