Do other maps work? If not check that your Antivirus/Firewall is not blocking the program from accessing the internet.
If other maps work then this sounds like you may have an earlier version of Travel Maps, the current version is 5.0.0.481 - to check which version you have, select Maps from the program menu, at the bottom of the screen select About the program.
There appears to be no 'Check for Updates' in the program, so in either case create a support ticket - link at top of the forum, under Photo & Design select Photostory - scroll down to the bottom of the next page and select Contact Support and follow through the dialogs always selecting Email/Contact Support - they should send you a download link to the latest version or instructions on how to fix the issue.
I too have this issue and I also have the latest version of Travel Maps. Also, all of the other maps are OK. It's just the Open Street maps that has this issue. I raised the issue with an email to support on 20th June 2023 and got a reply the following day to say that 'We are aware of the issue and are working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a timeline as to when the BUG will be fixed.'
Annoying as this can be for users, bugs can take much longer than 2 weeks to fully squash! Often, making one, even slight change to the code can adversely affect whole other areas of it. And any bug-fix must be extensively tested before it is released.
Fair point. I made the mistake of assuming a simple change to a line of code would clear the bug. But you're right. Tracking down where the problem lies and then making sure any change doesn't have a knock on effect could take a while. I've put my impatience firmly back in the box 😀.
I don't believe that this is a bug in the program but rather a problem between Magix and OpenStreetMap, or just OpenStreetMap now asking for an API Key to use their maps. There was a similar thing with the Travel Route Animation and Google Maps - an API Key was required and could be individually obtained by the user who could add it into a list or something, IRRC. I don't think that TM has the same thing.
It is OpenStreetMap that has changed their API key, I have an older version of Travel Maps (1.0.x.x) installed on a PC and it also has the API key message.
In the meantime while waiting for a fix, does the ESRI Standard map provide what you need?
I've been checking almost daily for an update that fixes this issue. Good news. Just checked this morning and there's an update that is now available for download. This has fixed the APR Key Required issue. Looks like the OpenStreetMap mapping has been updated too.
Thanks to everyone at Magix who have worked on this fix.
