Magix Studio 2023 -There is not enough memory available for this task.

Hello,

I keep getting the following message when trying to playback and edit my movies of Magix Movie Suite 2023:

Cannot open waveform device 'Speaker (Realtek(R) Audio)' for playback! There is not enough memory available for this task. Quit one or more applications to increase available memory, and then try again.

I had only just edited this movie yesterday and nothing has changed on the computer since. I don't have any other applications open when I try this.

I have 16 GB installed RAM and over 700 GB memory on my computer. I am using Windows 11 Home. (64-bit operating system). And, like I said, Magix worked yesterday.

Any suggestions?

@Kate-Lewis Hi, do you have a graphics card? They have memory too (VRAM) & when msgs like that pop up they can often be ref to that.

Right click the Taskbar at the bottom - Taskmanager to see what is using your memory.

PS, sometimes this is a glitch or an over reaction by the program, I have another editor that sometimes tells me when I'm using an effect that I don't have enough memory, 🤔😕 I have 256GB of RAM & my graphics card has 24GB of memory 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😂

Is this free space on the C: drive, if not what is the free space on this drive?

The running out of memory message can also appear if the computer has not had a Restart, not a shutdown and start or hibernation, due to a bulid up of cached files and programs running in the background gradually using up disc and RAM.

Just to add one other thing to consider:

I see a very similar message on my computer IF the sample rate of my audio interface is NOT set to what MMS expects, specifically 48kHz. If you have recently played a CD or similar audio track it is possible that your Realtek Soundcard has been reset to 44.1kHz and needs to be reset to 48kHz. I have even known Windows Updates to reset the sample rate of my interface!

If I could ask one more question. If you have had Magix Movie Studio for some time and if you still have an old project on your system, can you load and play it without any problems?
