MAGIX Sound Effects ... Where?

nancyandbob wrote on 12/15/2019, 12:38 PM

Running latest version of Photostory Deluxe.

When I select the "Explore" icon at the top, a list opens up with Photo Explorer, My media, and so on. "My media", "MAGIX media", and "MAGIX Sound effects" are all non-responsive to clicking. I've supposedly downloaded and installed everything under the "Help:Free download" option. Not sure what "MAGIX media" is supposed to do.

BIG issue for me is getting the "Sound effects" to work, since I routinely use those.

Any clues?

Hi From my experience the Photo Explorer isnt as useful as the old method, if your in Photo Explorer click the 3 button menu RH top and from the drop down list select Alte Ansicht to get to back to the old view, Magix sound effects will then be where they used to be. See the Phot Explorer menu here.

Hi

. . . . Not sure what "MAGIX media" is supposed to do . . . .

AFAICS it is the title of the section of items directly under it.

The arrows to the left of the section titles would suggest they supposed to collapse/expand (close/open) that section as they do in Movie Edit Pro and Video Pro X, however they do not work.

Dave -

I agree with you about Photo Explorer. So far, it's somewhere between useless and worthless.

When I've switched it off, and MAGIX Sound effects shows up, I'm thinking that should take me straight to the directory where they are. Instead, I can't even select it. Looks like someone built it into the screen menu and failed to include a link.

With Photo Explorer turned off (i.e. the "old" screen active) this is what I see under "MAGIX Sound Effects":

The actual location of all those files (by default) is: C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Photocontent\Photostory Deluxe\Sound Effects\

Do you have that folder present on your computer?

@nancyandbob

So the listed folder is there but PS, using the "old" interface, does not see it? Do you see the sub-folders shown in my screenshot, "Nature Sounds" and "Ambient" if you click on the "MAGIX Sound Effects" item?

If you don't see those sub-folders I think you need to raise a Support Ticket via the Contact button in the footer of every forum page.

"MAGIX Sound Effects" cannot be selected with either left or right click. It's icon appears to be dimmed also. I think it's a downward-pointing arrow. "Nature" and "Ambient" both bring up a bunch of directories / files under C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Photocontent\Photostory Deluxe\Sound effects\

The Magix Sound Effects is a section title as I have said previously above - 'the arrows to the left of the section titles would suggest they supposed to collapse/expand (close/open) that section as they do in Movie Edit Pro and Video Pro X, however they do not work.'

. . . . "Nature" and "Ambient" both bring up a bunch of directories / files under C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Photocontent\Photostory Deluxe\Sound effects\ . . .

Can you open the directories by double clicking them? The sound effect files are, organised by category see the video clip below
