Magix ProRes Data Rates Not To Apple Spec

MrAlexOliveira wrote on 5/19/2017, 6:29 PM

Hello all,

I'm working on a project with content from that was made from Final Cut output as the following:

This file plays just dandy in my hyperdeck mini. Note the data rate, makes total sense according to the apple white paper on prores found here:

https://www.apple.com/final-cut-pro/docs/Apple_ProRes_White_Paper.pdf

Now then, moving on to the Vegas Pro 14 problem. When I output video using the same codec, frame size, two things happen

1) The hyperdeck doesn't see my new file - it can only recognize files of one type at a time, it's perceiving my 3840 X 2160 29.97 Prores 422 HQ as different from the above working example.

2) Lower data rate - When I playback my Vegas outputted file using Quicktime I can see why it sees the files as different, they are. The Vegas Magix Prores 422HQ file has a data rate less than half of that of my other file and half of what the white paper spec says it should be.

I've tried a number of changes to parameters but nothing improves results. When I hit prores hq... I really expect Vegas to output to that published standard... even if I'm missing something, it shouldn't be this hard.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Hi.

I see your question relates to Vegas Pro. I suggest you post it to the dedicated Vegas Pro forum at https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/vegas-pro-forum/.

This forum is the one for products that have always been exclusively Magix; those that were originally part of the Sony brand now have their own dedicated forums.

Hi Jeff,

Not quite. The Vegas forum is only for the video products. All other ex-Sony products are handled in this present forum under Audio - Soundforge, Spectralayers, Acid, etc.

@browj2

Point taken! Another example of loose language on my part!
