The surprises continue. When I have edited a movie of say 40 minutes and in the movie used about 30 chapter markers with no problem and then close the program and reopen it, the text in most of the markers has been clipped from the right so maybe half of the text characters have been removed. What is going on?

Is the top timeline in the image below what you are seeing?
If so then zoom in on the timeline more as shown in the lower timeline.
If not - can you post a screenshot of the issue, and how long is the text ie how many characters are there in the ones 'losing' the text?

One of many examples (Swedish text). This chapter marker has been reduced from ”Kiruna gör mål och reducerar underläget till 2-4” to ”Kiruna gör mål och re”.

Thanks for the extra information.
I have tested long chapter names in Movie Edit Pro MX, and although you can enter more characters, they are truncated on save. The chapter name length is limited to 21 characters, including spaces.
If you are creating DVD discs, the full Chapter name can be entered in the Disc Menu editing page.
Later versions of the program, from Movie Edit Pro 2015 onwards, can save a chapter name of 70+ characters in the timeline - the image I previously posted is from Movie Studio 2024 (the rebranded name of Movie Edit Pro).
