low resolution

I have tried to burn two films to dvd after importing from my camcorder and editing and the resolution is too low it pixilates very badly when any movement is shown.

You will need to tell us the video properties of your original video files and also the properties of what you want to achieve.

I am using a sony cam corda on mini dv tape,which gives appx 1million pixal resolution shot in 16;9 format.I have used Pinnacle software previously and that gave better results without any fiddling with the resolutin when importing.

In this case, provide more information for the output format you choose, as I understand that's where the problem really happens - after rendering the export. Are you doing some kind of file export or are you burning a standard video DVD?
