@EHS This could be caused by the Magix Low Latency ASIO driver (a rebranded, older version of ASIO4ALL).

If you want to uninstall Magix Low Latency you can press the Windows key + R on your computer keyboard, and type REGEDIT in the Open field:

Then navigate to:  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > ASIO > Magix Low Latency 2016:

Now, simply right click the Magix Low Latency 2016 folder, and delete it.

Then restart your computer. Please select the Restart option and not the Shut down option.

@SP. I get a message - "Cannot delete Magix Low Latency 2016 folder". The static noise comes up when i try deleting.

This thread is asking about Sound Forge so are you attempting to delete that folder when Sound Forge is running?

If so, try again with SF closed.

If you do not experience this problem with Sound Forge, please specify exactly which Magix software you have. Though the solution, to ensure the app is closed before attempting the folder delete, also applies!

@emmrecs I have just installed Sound Forge Audio Studio 17. I had shut the program and then tried deleting the MAGIX LOW LATENCY 2016 folder. I get that static sound when i hit delete.

@emmrecs is ASIO linked to Music Maker? I am fine uninstalling Music Maker and other programs, which got installed with SF - SA 17. I just need Sound Forge Audio Studio Audio (SF - SA).

@Dextryl-Ferrao Maybe the deletion works if you restart your computer. Please select the Restart option and not the Shut down option. Uninstalling Music Maker might also work. But I'm not sure.
