I am not at all sure what you mean when you say

the thumb nails and sound are not in sinc

What thumb nails? Have you tried playing the file in VSCL? Are the audio and video not in sync then? If so, have you checked what the audio sample rate of your file is? (The free MediaInfo will quickly tell you this if you're not sure.) It is vital that the sample rate of your audio file matches the sample rate that VSCL expects, otherwise the audio will play "faster" or "slower" than the video. In VSCL, check under Options>Playback parameters that the correct sample rate is selected.
