License issue for selling music

Zahi-Fishman wrote on 2/26/2023, 4:12 AM

Hi everyone!

I'm sure this topic already mentioned a lot but I need a very specific clarification:

I'm creating music via Magix Music Maker, i'm not using the loops libraries at all, but i do use the instruments (sounds and loops at the VITA etc.) by connecting and playing with my MIDI keyboared, the instruments contain loops as well but they're under the VST plugins and not as part of the loops library.

So, basically, do i need any special paid licence -or- as told by my description, it's my own melodies?

Thnaks in advance!

@Zahi-Fishman

Hi

If you are not using soundpools/loops or the default VST loop sample you get/hear when drag/add a VST instrument to the timeline from the VST panel, then there is no issue with licensing/seliing your music.

Hi,

Thanks for your fast reply but unfortunately i couldn't understand correctly.

I'm using instruments only (playing the melodies with my MIDI keyboard) and none of the soundpools loops, but some of these instruments have their own "loops" built-in, these sounds are also commercially approved?

Thanks.

Hi

. . . . some of these instruments have their own "loops" built-in, these sounds are also commercially approved . . . .

Yes for the VSTs that are looped based ie use samples from real instruments are Ok to use without a licence.

The loop I was referring to is the one you get as you add a VST from the VST Instruments pane as seen below - my apologies if this caused confusion.
