I own the legacy Movie Edit Pro, has worked fine for years. Recently it stopped working; when starting the application it would display an error that the application folder is corrupt and needs to be repaired. I uninstalled it, logged into the ‘Magix Service Center’ and downloaded a fresh copy of the installer (movieeditpro_mx_dlv_dlm.exe). Not sure exact version (must be older since I registered in 2012), but it ran on this PC with same OS. When I run the installer, it prompts for the language and I hit NEXT. An installation progress screen is displayed (shows a download status of 0%), and then the program terminates (vanishes from the screen) with no error. This is being installed on the same PC/OS as was installed (and working) for years. Checking the Windows Event Viewer, I see the following:
- Faulting application name: MxDownloadManager.exe, version: 1.0.5.12, time stamp: 0x4e1eb953

I am:
- Windows 10, latest release.
- GPU = vanilla Intel(r) HD Graphics 630, driver 31.0.101.2112
Reading the closest forum I could find, I tried the following: (https://www.magix.info/us/forum/download-installation-does-not-work--1334362/#ca1914760)
I temporarily removed all startup program (other than Chrome and Windows stuff) but there is no change.
I additionally disabled all firewalls and Windows Defender firewall protection, but no change. In order:
- Real time protection
- Cloud Delivered Protection
- Automatic Sample Submissions
- Domain Network Firewall
- Private Network Firewall
- Public Network Firewall
I tried running as an administrator, and the ‘normal’ user. No change.
How to get this installed? Did this PC somehow fall out of support?
If it is any sort of hint, I tried to grab a screenshot of the install screen showing the %0 downloaded, but it does not let me grab it. I can grab the spinning wheel that displays before that window displays, but PrintScreen button will not grab the installation screen that is flashing by. There is a screen I see AFTER this wheel is displayed, but I cannot grab it…
