Latency woes

I just learned about the term "latency". Whenever I make a song and play along, the latency is just terrible even when I set the settings to zero. It is very hard to play along.

Your suggestions would be appreciated. Would I need an external sound card or a better interface or something?

You need an external sound card or better interface depends upon what you are using and how you are using. You did not mention if you use a Desktop or Laptop. Using interface or not? What ASIO settings you are using in Magix Music maker etc.

Do you really understand what latency is how come you set to Zero? any way the easiest way please check this PDF tutorial first.
