keyboard latency

i am using a yamaha keyboard (E463) connected with usb into the pc and the daw.

have used multiple times including earlier today with no latency problems at all.

now all of a sudden... latency..

adjusted the buffer etc and it got no better

in the preference the box to automatically adjust for latency is ticked

thoughts/ help?

had you added lots of FX or a started using a complex VSTi? they can all drastically affect latency, especially things like linear EQs.

yes, i did add more FX. does restarting the computer aid in reallocating the PC resources?
