System Resources? Could be that the amount of RAM available to the program is not enough to use that video and its length.

What is the resolution of the video?

As a test, maybe try cutting the video in smaller segments, and seeing if the smaller time segment plays back better.

When you load the .vob file, does it ask you to convert it?

Then it has to be codec issues

Not sure what else to tell you, I can load and playback 29.97 .vob fine, I do convert them though, people I am taking them to to a portable device standard.

Are there any other programs running in the background, perhaps from startup? And I know you say you have 4 GB of RAM, but is that RAM available to the MAGIX software or is it being allocated to other applications.

I too have 4 GB of RAM, but if I run Nero, just even to turn it on, then close it, I only have 2.3 GB of RAM available to me, I have to reboot the system each time I close Nero, which might account why I do not use it often.

Perhaps too simplistic, but always worth a try. Have you tried setting the program to NTSC. Open the program and press Y on your keyboard, and proceed to Video/Audio and confirm you have NTSC.

Whilst you're there, reduce preview level to half if set on full. OK that, then press the E key, and set NTSC for your Movie Setting.  Maybe you'll get lucky.

hi
thanx for the info but i have already tried changing to ntsc, i have converted the dvd to avi / mp4 / and mpg2 and it works ok.. but the raw ntsc vob still jumps..could it be that the dvd is copy protected, or some sort of macro..or do i need some sort of codec, ...
