I have used Xara products for decades and now have changed to an iMac. Is there any way to make it work on my current set up?

Magix apps are (almost) exclusively for the Windows platform. So the only method by which you might enable XDP to run on a Mac is to install Bootcamp and on the Bootcamp partition install a full version of Windows, into which you would install XDP..
It is possible that installing Parallels might enable you to run XDP but my understanding of this is that it is unlikely to work without problem.
