Sounds like you are transferring from cine film to video using a cine projector and a video camera.    If so, you will find that the cine film has much higher contrast than the video will accept.   This means that the light colours are burnt out to correctly expose the dark colours, or the dark colours are too dark if the light colours are correctly exposed.

The best way I have found is to expose the video (by using the manual exposure settings) to correctly expose the light colours (like white wedding dresses), then, in Magix, go to 'Video cleaning', 'Selective brightness', 'Selective dark colour' and increase the brightness until detail just appears in the dark colours.   Don't over-do it though, so as not to degrade the picture.
