Impossible to activate licence behind a Proxy in a business network

Hi,

I'm trying to activate the lincence of Magix Video Pro X7 but the program is unable to conect to the Internet.

I suppose it is due to the fact that the PC is connected to a business network (LAN) that connects through a Proxy to the Internet.

The Proxy requires a user-id and password for authentication.

If the programs tries to connect directly to the Internet the Proxy will block this.

How can I solve the problem?

Thx

Hi

Do you have to supply user id and password every time you connect to the Internet with a web browser?

Try the following:

Connect to the Internet using Internet Explorer and leave it open.

Start VPX and try registering - it should pick up the proxy settings from the computer and the user id and password.

It may be that it is not the proxy that is stopping Internet access but the Firewall - ie only certain programs are allowed to connect through the proxy.

You may have a business case to put to your IT guys to allow VPX to connect to the Internet, especially if the program is essential to the business.  VPX will require to connect to the Internet about once per month to check activation / registration and download updates.

Alternatively on the registration / activation dialog there should be the option to activate offline or using another computer - follow the instructions which will guide you through the process.

This will not allow you get updates / patches as they are issued though - you do need that Internet connection.
