I am certain that it still works, but perhaps the media player of Microsoft needs an update? I recommend downloading and installing the latest Windows Media Player to see if that does not solve the issue of importing the  WMA files.

Thank you for your response. Windows Media Player handles the .WMA files no problem. It's Samplitude that won't play the files. it can see them alright, just won't play them.

As your question did not provide some details such as your wma files are in 16 or 24 bit or they are DMR(Digital rights management) protected?

Please check if your wma files are in 16 bit or 24 bit. Or can Samplitude let you play 24 bit files, to confirm you have to check PDF help file.

If your wma files are DMR protected you have to remove that.

Or the quickest solution to your problem and  to avoid frustration you better ask the same questions with details in the Samplitude forum.

Click the above url link, then on the top right click on Forum, then follow guidance and ask question.

Note: I hope moderator won't mind my suggestions.

The reason I mentioned Windows Media Player is that is also updates the codecs for all other programs to use.

You should also check to make sure that the program has all the latest updates from the Magix support page.

"Don't know how to find out whether my .WMA files are 16/24 bit." - hans_wghofer

There's two ways to do it - en masse or individually.

To do an entire folder, open the folder in Windows Explorer > right-click on the headers (Name, Size, Type, etc.) > In the drop-down menu, go to "more..." and check the box for "Audio sample size".

To do it individually, open the folder in Windows Explorer > right-click on the file and click on 'Properties' > click on the 'Summary' tab > click on the 'Advanced' button...

All of the information you seek will be shown at the bottom of the pop-up window.

Well...I checked this out at work where I'm using Windows 7.  It seems the attribute here is now called "Bit Depth".  However, even when I turn the column on, Win 7 shows no value(s).  I have no idea why this would be.
