I have followed the instructions and connected a Phillips VR540 video recorder to my laptop. I only see a blue screen and no image but I do get sound. What's the problem? I am using Rescue your video-tapes 6 and have tried it with our own videos and commercial videos without success. I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop with Microsoft Vista Home Premium O/S.

Hi

You may need to update the drivers if you are using the Magix USB capture device - they are available here (RYVT USB device)

Select the correct driver for your Windws version (32 or 64 bit) and the colour of the USB capture device.

Thanks for your advice, I have now updated the driver for the relevant red and white usb converter. However I still have the same problem. Have you any further suggestions?

Hi

Try this:-

Plug in the USB device before starting RYVT then start the program.

From the import video window select Import video from analogue source option - the USB device should be detected. Click the Advanced view button to check the settings.

Try recording a few seconds of video.

Thanks, I tried this but that has not worked. I'm not sure what I am looking for in the settings. Have you any idea what the settings should be?
