i have a 1/4 in mic what interface is best w/ magix 17?

i have a 1/4 mic plug in and need an interface for recording vocals .. i called magix and said they cant recomend anything since its 3rd party merchandise. can someone please let me know what interface is compatible with windows 7 and magix 17?

What are you trying to do?

With a 1/4" microphone connector, I recommend using the systems sound card or an external sound card like the Creative Labs soundblaster series.

You do not want a high end audio card with a 1/4" connector that really defeats the purpose. Professional grade microphones have something like a 3 pin XLR connector, that requires phantom power (amplifies the signal) and an audio device that interfaces that connection to the computer.

Depending on what you want to do and how much you want to invest into doing it... it’s hard to suggest the right thing.
