Years ago I gave up trying to burn my DVDs from MEP, as it failed so often. Usually at the very end, like your example. Occasional tests show no improvement in MEP17+.

I suspect (it's just a guess based on glancing through the log above and seeing the phrase "...invalid device !!!" ) that the reason for your failure is in the same category as many of mine. Namely lack of support by MEP for many brands of DVD drive, plus intolerance to other installed programs (or residues of programs).

My solution was simple: use the excellent ImgBurn instead. When MEP pops up its message asking you to insert a disc, click Cancel and then Close. Then open ImgBurn and use its 'Write Files/Folders to Disc'. Specify the VOB folder that MEP created on your HD (in the location you specified in Program Settings > Folder). In my case, I get a successful burn every time, whether on DVD-R, DVD+R or DVD-RW.
