I am unable to get the LP to CD conversion to work

How do I get the conversion from LP's to CD's to work. All I can pick up are room noise such as chair squeaks or paper movements. What am I doing wrongI think everything is hooked up correctly,

You are not recording from the correct source. You should be connected from the phonograph or receiver to the line-in port of your sound device of your computer, usually the blue port using the 1/4" stereo connector.

You will need to open the recording dialog of Windows and make sure that LINE IN is selected through Windows. Right now you are recording from Microphone, and that will pick up what you described.

If you need additional information, let me know what operating system you have, then maybe I can get you information on how to get to the Windows Record Dialog
