I am new to phot manager delux ver 13.1.1.12 - database OS win10

The first problem is there is no sign of the database being listed in the left hand menu as indicated within the video introduction. We are trying to use this app to organise our community digital museum archives. We have established the categories without problem for example 1 is agriculture 2 is boat building 3 is boats etc. What we now need to so is import the agriculture images into the agriculture category and the boat building images into the boatbuilding category and so on. As we have approximately 74,000 images in 4,000 files it is not feasible to load them all for sorting. Each image has to have its own unique code and it would be helpful if a descriptive text could be tagged to each image. Any help would be much appreciated as we have a long road in front of us. Thanks Mike Porthleven Museum

@Michael-Carter

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Make sure you are using "Advanced Mode". See the screenshot below for where to find the box to tick, upper right corner of the main workscreen.

Once that is activated, "Database" will be listed as an option in the left hand sidebar.

My poor eyesight did not help perhaps larger print could be used for us old geezers. next is it possible to drag and drop a file containing images into a category listing creating a data base just for the selected images. First museum selection Agriculture so all the agriculture images are placed here and the the next is boats so we drag all the images into the boat category and they have their own database. Your help to us is much appreciated Thank you. Mike

@Michael-Carter

Assuming you mean you wish to add a folder (not a file as you said since it is to contain images) to the database, check these options on the Database menu bar.

We have many folders containing many files. We were hoping to be able to drag a file from our hard drive - eg boats on the hard drive into a photo manager boats database. Then we hoped to open this into the category named boats and add the images information in the tag files. each image has to have a unique ID number that works like this PLVCM this identifies us as Porthleven Community Museum. Next follows a year which is followed by a category code followed by a file number identity For example PLVCM2020.1.1 informs the archive the image belongs to Porthleven Community Museum/ The .1 informs us this is the code for Agriculture and the following .1 informs us it is the first image within the file. Therefore .2 would be the second. image in the Agriculture file. once we have achieved this we can safely upload the file to the website. Just need to learn how to do it. So any support for this community project would be much appreciate regards Mike
