Photostory 2023 comes with Xara Photo Designer which should be set as the default image editor in the program settings, Paths tab.

Paint cannot be used as it is a 'Windows app' and appears to be protected from access by other programs.

I use Corel Paintshop Pro 2021 (laptop) and 2023 (PC).

There are many other image editors that can be used.
