Go to your account on Magix.com, log in, My Products and find PhotoStory Deluxe 2023 and download it from there and install it. Note your activation code. Also check to make sure that it's only activated on 1 device. You can have two devices activated concurrently.
Your next problem, of course, will be copying everything (your material and projects) over from your old computer.
PLEASE DON'T POST ALL IN CAPITALS! IT'S CONSIDERED THE FORUM EQUIVALENT OF SHOUTING!!
I think the error message you quote has itself an error! Please give us a screenshot of it, or at least the full wording.
"Deleting" any program (if you mean that literally) is most definitely NOT a good idea! Uninstalling (which is the correct way to remove a program) and then reinstalling often exacerbates the problem because the installer.log, which "controls" the uninstall, does not know about any files, folders, registry entries etc., which are created when the program is first run.
So, please give us the details about the error message, as requested.
Re-reading your post I realise that you may be saying that you cannot even install it because of a missing file. if so, my apologies for what I wrote above! So can you also clarify whether you are able, or not, to even install the program?
my first try at a screen shot hope it works, still get this, when I try to open it, soory about caps, us old guys use caps as it is easier to see, i am 80
. . . . . us old guys use caps as it is easier to see . . . .
Are you using the Windows Accessibility feature Magnifier - press the Windows key and + (plus key) to turn on and Windows key and - (minus/ key)to turn off.
Age is but a number, however our bodies remind us how much bigger that number is !
Wow, I did not know about the magnifier, that is a big help, thank you, always willing to learn new things. also Magix just sent me a new link and serial number, should I delete what I have and try that? or??
Before we can answer your question should I delete what I have we need to know exactly what you do have at the moment? Is PS installed or is it that the installer itself fails to complete?
it was installed, and that error occurred when I tried to click on it to open. I have not loaded the new one yet from Magix, thks for responding, i am not very tecky as you can see
The errors are still there because the problem, as @johnebaker pointed out, is the fact that your Windows installation is missing one of its files; merely running the Magix installer again is not going to install the missing Windows file! Did you read and follow the advice in the support article which John pointed you to?
Yes, the link did not have a download, very very confusing for a old guy like me, scary. Is there a more direct way of fixing this? I am not very tecky
The link includes several downloads! One to a Microsoft Support Article relevant to whichever OS you run and two more for specific downloads! John suggested you look especially at item 4 on that page, including its linked download.
Well I just wanted to say a sincere thankyou to you both for all of your very patient help with this old guy. It worked beautifully. I can now get started on my new project. Merry Christmas and a healthy 2023
