How to pause a clip for editing

In the edit mode is there a way to freeze the clip at a cetain point? currently the clip it is resetting to the start of the clip.

I am really find this software counter productive....:(

Use the space bar to stop the cursor in the current postion:

1. Enter P2. Open 2.
3. Mark Spacebar stopps in current positionNow you can start and stop your video using the spacebar.
