How to lower or raise the sound in the sound on a certain clip

niels.ebbe.huus wrote on 3/8/2015, 10:43 AM

Hello. I'm using Magix Photo on CD&DVD 9. on Windows 7 64 bit

I want to lower only a part  of an audio clip under one photo. When I use the square knop I lower the whole audio clip. In Adope Premiere I could devide the audio clip and lower just a small part. But my Premiere is now too old to work with Windows 7.

Additionel question. How can I import mp3 files and use them on the storyvoard? Now I convert every mp3 to Wav,, and it is boaring

Hi

. . . . on the storyvoard . . . .

You need to be in timeline mode then you can lower the volume as you have previously done in Premiere or you can use a Volume curve.

See the installed PDF manual - IIRC this is available in the Start menu for Photostory - you can also search Help

When i pull the yellow line in the middle i lower the volume in the whole clip. You suggest that I use a volume curve, what exactly do you mean. I have read the pdf file but did not find the answer

Hi

Did you make the cuts (divide) as you have previously done in Premiere?

I prefer to use Volume curves :-

  • Right click the audio track, ie track 2 or 4 whichever the audio is on, and select Volume curves

  • Double click the curve to set a point.

  • Two points minimum are required for a simple volume curve (start and end points) in your case you will need 4 points. Start fade down, End fade down, Start fade up, and End fade up

  • Curve points are moved by drag & drop, the mouse cursor turns into a cross when you are moving a point
    .
  • Double clicking a point deletes it.

The curve will then look something like this (your colours will be different - this is from MEP)

Hello again. I have downloaded the version Photoshow 2015, but I stilll have the same problem.

You tell me to double click on the yellow line in timeline mode at the audio clip. But when I do so I get the following window

and I cannot make any marks as in Premiere. I have tried both left and wright click but always come this window, and I do not know what to do. Can you help me? can we chat so that you can advise me or use Teamviewer as a remote control software. I would be very happy if you could help me.

My version is in German, but it looks like the english version

Here is the help screen that pups up

Translated: Now you see volume track. In order to make a Waypoint, double click on the desired place.

But when I do so, the other window appears.

Hello again

I have got the version fotoshow 2015 and there I  can make the points that you mention. Could it be, that my version 9 does not have this option. Who can I ask?

In the program look under Help and search for Volume curve or in the installed PDF manual which should be available from the Start, Programs, Magix, Photostory, Documentation - if it was installed.

I have the manual for version 10 onwards, however I would be surprised if Volume Curve was not available in version 9.
