How to insert video, but continue old audio after done

I have a slideshow playing to music, and would like to insert a video with audio then continue back to the slideshow. I want the same music to play during and after the inserted video, but I want to fade in a short portion of the inserted audio.

If this in not too confusing, is it possible, and how?

First you need to split the audio from the video. Highlight the video in edit mode. Click on the "ungroup" button (broken chain symbol) or press CRTL + M. Now you can shorten the video without affecting the sound track. If you need to fade in and out select the point in the audio you want to fade at, Choose the "cut" symbol (razor blade) and you will have editable sections of music. I split the music where I want to insert a voice-over and fade the music to low, then insert the voice track below in the faded out section (use a new track for this. At the end of the voice over fade the music back up.
