how to improve the video quality, like advertised?!

johan-m wrote on 6/23/2021, 3:50 PM

Hi there,

(already some time ago) I purchased Magix |Video Easy Save your video's

the hardware is fine, it's capturing the scart video just oke

the video is old .. hence bad quality

but when I purchased the toll (incl the software), it showed that it was able to uplift the video quality by a lot...

in the tool I recieved I only find a correction for movement and color (or addeing noise/destortion)

but I can't find a thing to remove scratches, sharpen the image, "clean" the video...

did I not get what was advertised?!.. should I have bought something else?!

@johan-m

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

I don't have Video Easy but I understand its principle purpose is to allow the user to transfer old analogue video tapes to a digital format. As such, its "editing" and "improvement" facilities are going to be severely limited.

I'm not sure where you saw the advertising that made you believe it was capable of more than this.

For the types of "improvement" you list you really need to be looking at a more fully-featured video editing package, like Movie Edit Pro. You will still be able to use Video Easy to transfer the tapes and then open the transferred file(s) in MEP to allow further work.

Hi,

Further to what Jeff mentioned, you would also need the plugin Neat Video to help clean up the problems that you mentioned like cleaning scratches and snow. It's expensive but well worth the money if you have a lot of cleaning to do.

Hi

. . . .  Magix |Video Easy Save . . . .

Is this the program you are using or the one @CubeAce linked to - Video Saver?

Both programs have a very limited set of tools for making adjustments.

. . . . the plugin Neat Video  . . . . that is indeed one of the program's/tools i will be checking out . . .

Do be aware that may have to get the standalone version as there is no plugin version for Video Easy or Video Saver.
