How to import photos from LightRoom to Magix

Hi and welcome to the forum

We need more information:

Are you adjusting the photos in Lightroom and then saving them?

Which Magix prgram are you referring to - Magix is the company name - and what is the version as found under Help, About . . .

A few tips on posting in the forum:-

Please read this topic and put the following information in your profile signature so we do not have to ask for it:

Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset make/model, audio card or chipset make/model, RAM, hard drive configuration and sizes?
Windows version and is it up to date? Press and hold down the Windows key and the R key - in the dialog that opens type in winver and press enter.
Software full name and version number - as found under Help, About . . .

Also when posting please include the following where applicable:

Audio and/or video file formats being imported
Export format and settings used
MediaInfo data on audio or video - see below

If you have issues with importing audio or video please use MediaInfo to analyse a problem clip and post the results from the Tree view in MediaInfo

Also add any other information you think may be relevant.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Computer Specs:

Processor: Intel Core i7-3820 CPU @3.60 GHZ

Ram: 12 GB; Storage 931GB

System 64-bit operating 64 bit processor

Windows: 10 Home / Version 1709 / OS Build 16299.248 - Up to date.

MAGIX: Photo Manager Deluxe Version 13.1.1.4

Just recently installed Photo Manager Deluxe primarily for being able to better manage my photos. I have some photos that were manipulated in LightRoom and some film that I'm scanning into the computer. My current issue is loading the LightRoom photos into Magix. I have not yet scanned anything but am hoping that the scanning of film will be more automatic.

Photo Manager does not 'load' photos into itself, it catalogs the images files in the folders that you tell Photo Manager to scan, it does not interfere or change the locations of the photos.

The only time it loads a photo is if you use the image editing functions within the program.

Note: Photo Manager supports only the file formats listed here (scroll down the page for the list).

Thanks John. Guess I misunderstood the software's capabilities as I was/am looking for a package that I can upload photos into from my camera/USB and then catalog them. Also wanted to take photos currently on my hard drive and upload to a package so that I have all photos in one location/package.

As John indicated, Photo Manager will catalogue your pictures; the actual importing to your computer is normally done either by using dedicated software from your camera manufacturer or by simply drag and drop from the camera to a folder that you select. Once you tell Photo Manager about that folder, and any others you have which contain image files, it will search and catalogue all their contents, subject to file type.

Also wanted to take photos currently on my hard drive and upload to a package so that I have all photos in one location/package.

Again this is something you have to do yourself; simply copy and paste or move all your image files to a folder/directory of your own choosing, point Photo Manager to this folder and it will catalogue your complete collection. I don't know of any software that will find all the image files on your hard drive and automatically move them to a specific folder.

Actually Photo Manager (PM) will import the pictures from an external device ie camera or USB card reader, etc see image below.

Using the reference numbers in the image below

Click Import to open the dialog
Locate the source of the images - if from camera or USB card reader they must be plugged in, and switched on in the case of a camera.
Specify where the pictures are to be saved.
Uncheck this option if you do not want the pictures imported into a sub folder.

Note: the folder you import to must also be one that PM also catalogues.

Once the images are detected, PM will search all sub folders of the location you point it to at step 2 for supported file formats, the dialog will also have extra options as shown below
