how to get the skipping noise out of the playback?

What is your recording device (sound card)?

I haven't noticed any skipping in my version when I record. Maybe you have other applications running in the background of the computer causing some sort of communications interruption, maybe a firewall or adware, spyware, antiviral application.

It could be how your recording too... which is dependent on the question of what your recording device is as well as what you are recording from... microphone is it USB or 1/4" through he red microphone port.

If you can get more details on this, perhaps we can find a solution for it.
