How to delete a clip and close up the gap...

Quiet here, isn't it? ;-)

Well I keep reading the manual, but I can't find the bit where it explains how to delete a clip and close the gap in one operation. Like Insert in reverse.

Most editors I've used does this, either when in  there normal mode or if you holde down ALT or CTRL or SHIFT or something when you Delete.

Try Ctrl+Del.

I don't have VPX but in MEP it is in the razor blade dropdown and is called "Remove Scene".

Works exactly the same in VPX; Cntrl+Delete is one key combination I use rather often!

You know that bizare thing where yoy are sure you have tried everything? I'm sure I had tried that, even on a single track.

I can now see that most of the time I was trying it, I was expecting the individual track to ripple when the "Mouse mode for a track" was selected, but CTRL delete won't destroy the inter track sysnc even in that situation (nothiong wrong with that concept now I understand it.

Just to carry on talking aloud, I wasn't being that dumb. I now relaise that I have some sort of corruption on some projects. The seem to have a phatom clip or two on track one that doesn't show up on the timeline but prevents some of the editing functions behaving how I would expect.

I've been using multi-cam on these projects that are giving me issues.

OK, I think I've worked it out.. CTRL Delete only works on track 1
