How? Play and record my own sounds from my Yamaha Synth CS6x

Hi, I would like to play and record the sounds from my Yamaha Synth CS6x. into a track/tracks in Magix Music Maker 15.  So far, no luck.
When I press audio record I do get a take, but no wave form or sound.  I am using a Yamaha Audio Interface - Audiogram 3 which is great for recording vocals in Magix and with this I have no problem.  All the settings are the same as for vocals.  I have 2 leads plugged into the synth -individual output 1 and 2 on the back and these leads go into the back of the interface '2' left and right inputs.
I have been wanting to be able to do this for years and no one has the knowledge??? I notice some smart cookies here, so here's hoping.

Hi,
I believe you're trying to connect MIDI cables to your interface. What do the cables look like? Especially from the end.
If you're connecting your synth via the MIDI in and out cables then we'll need to approach this a different way.

Let me know,

Hi Smart Cookie (Justin!)
No, the keyboard has leads into the Audiogram 3 and the Audiogram 3 is connected to the computer by USB lead.
(I use the interface with the mike plugged directly into in and i can record vocals nicely into Magix this way.)
The person I bought the interface from said that the keyboard leads should be directly plugged into the interface and it should work in a similar manner to the microphone.
By doing this way, I was told that I could actually play my own sounds from my own keyboard.
Hope this makes sense.

Wow, it works!!!  I have managed to actually play my synth live and get it recorded into Magix Music Maker 15!  Don't know how exactly, but I plugged in the leads from the back of the synth into they Yamaha Audiogram3 Interface box and the usb lead into the computer.  Also, downloaded ASIO4ALL, advice which I got from a couple of people in this forum - thank you lots!!  (made sure they were selected when listening through my speakers to playback).  To record and play my keyboard, I clicked Tasks, Recording, Record Audio with Microphone the at Step 1 'Please choose audio driver' & clicked Microphone (2-SDB Audio Device).
