Video Pro X365? does that replace X14?

CubeAce wrote on 8/29/2022, 4:44 PM

@Thomas-Waidelich

Hi Thomas and welcome to the user to user forums.

Movie Edit Pro is now called Magix Movie Studio. Same program but new name. Rebranded.

In order of additional features they go.

Movie Studio

Movie Studio Platinum.

Movie Studio Suite.

Choosing the 'New Purchase' or if you own a previous copy 'Upgrade' purchase then you you get a perpetual licence with one year of support from Magix which mainly means receiving and patches to the program until a new upgrade is available at which point you can either choose to upgrade to the new version and extended support or choose not to upgrade and keep the core program you bought until such times as it won't be able to run due to possible operating system changes. That version does not allow you access to the the StoryBlocks store and free monthly content downloads available.

That is where the 365 versions come into play. Anything ending in 356 is the Magix subscription service which again is based on a one year contract that can be paid in full for the year or on a monthly payment [Choose 12 months / Annual payment or the Monthly options ] but both choices are still a yearly contract. You could opt out early but there would be a withdrawal penalty involved and needs to be made to Magix one month in advance. At which point you would no longer have access to the core program of Story blocks content. All three versions listed above are available as 365 options.

Video Pro X has the same options but is the 'bigger brother' of the Magix Movie Studio package.

Do make sure your system meets all of the minimum requirements for the basic functions of the core program to work at resolutions not exceeding 1920 x 1080. For 4K editing and above most people here would advice a much higher specified machine to have a smooth experience. Some third party effects offered may also not work at the basic minimum requirements. Also check the program will handle all the file types you intend to be using on the specs page. Some file types may need the user to buy additional packages to allow such videos to be used.

[Edit].

If your system does not have an Intel CPU of 10th generation or higher with an Intel Iris Xe graphics chip (minimum) do not expect the quoted export speed. Ideally I would also personally recommend an nvidia graphics card with a Turing based processor or preferably newer and at least 4GB of vram if working with 4K footage.

The program will run on lower specified machines (I am running an Intel i9900K with an nvidia 1650 Super) but I am not getting as smooth as an experience as others here with higher specified machines.

Ray.

Thanks for this information! I'm an old Adobe user and learning Magix programs. I first got Movie Edit Pro!

Thinking Video Pro X14 was an upgrade I got this one, so I have both now.

I mainly only use Video Pro X14 now! So I will upgrade to 365.

Thanks again!!! Tom

Hi,

I mainly only use Video Pro X14 now! So I will upgrade to 365.

Unless you really need access to Storyblocks content, then getting 365 would be redundant; you already have VPX14 and would gain nothing. Wait for the next version.

Hi,

I really don't understand. You indicate that you got VPX14. There is no reason to also get a subscription right now - you will only get VPX14 again (and limited access to Storyblocks which you probably will not use). You will already receive updates to VPX14 until VPX15 comes out. That would be the time to subscribe, not now. You are just wasting money.

3. Enjoy unlimited support for the duration of your subscription – whether you have questions about an installation or during your daily work, we're here to help.

You get that anyways with VPX14. And, we on the forum are here to help.
