How do you record your vocals instead of the beat?

click File, then AUDIO RECORDING...uncheck "PLAYBACK WHILE RECORDING" (if it is checked) then click VOLUME MIX under the third tab...make sure MICROPHONE is checked and not WAVE OUT MIX or LINE IN...and voila!
