How do you get a track from itunes to load and play

i have downloaded the demo. IT SAYS IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE FILE FROM ITUNES. I am using a mac OS 10.6.8

It won't, iTunes has Digital Rights Management (DRM) built in - any file that has DRM protection cannot be read directly from the iTunes folder.

You need to export the files from iTunes - however again DRM may encrypt the files so they can only be re-imported into your registered iTunes.
