I read a couple of things that I can find but none are quite enough for a beginner. we have a Zara website, but Id like to add a blog and can't figure out if/how
I suggest that you join the TalkGraphics forum and do a search.
I want to do the same thing and there are a few different ways. Here is one that does not require a database - pure Xara blog. I'm using both Magix and Xara hosting - no php, no db.
I'll be starting off tomorrow, probably, and asking Acorn for help in translating his instructions into English.
There are third party blogging providers that can used to create a blog, eg Blogger which would be embedded into an iFrame on a Web Designer page for your site.
I played around with Blogger (Google) last night. That is quite something and is likely the best and most efficient solution, at least for me.
I was able to create a blog, create an iFrame in Xara and have the blog in my Xara-designed website. Now, I just have to be able to figure out how to keep it there entirely, as creating a comment causes it to just to the native Google page. I presume that publishing it to my hosting account will take care of this. To be continued.
I saw this two. It has some language problems, though. For some of the themes it comes out in Albanian, rather than English or Danish. Can make Blogger work with iFrame without any problem in Xara.
Will also look into https://www.xt-cms.com/ - looks kind of ... useable for a non-coding-nerd like me.
