how do you add and delete music from a slideshow?

It seems like there are two different tracks of the same song playing at once and i cant figure out how to remove the song and the music and pictures wont play at the same time.

If you are not in Timeline mode then click is button to switch to it.

You should then be able to view everything that is on the timeline and check if song track has been duplicated - note you may have to scroll down the tracks to check them all.

And then select the duplicate with the mouse and then delete it with the Delete key.

If the music object is in the wrong place, drag it with the mouse to where you want it.
