How do I set the audio sample rate other that 48.000?

I have problems, even in the beginning, to get started with transferring my video from my Digital Handycam Sony DCR-PC5E to my PC, Windows 7.

When I choose "very high" recording quality, I get the following message:

"The recording device does not support the audio sample rate you have set. (48.000hz).
Please switch to Advanced mode and Select "User defined" as the record format setting.
The dialog for setting the record format will now open. Select one of the record format settings here:
192.000, 192.000, 192.000 (Hz) ??? The problem is that this sample rate cannot be chosen, only
44.100, 32.000. What do I do when there are no other options (or explanations!) listed??

Hi

Use the 44,100 setting - the difference between this and 48,000 is rarely noticeable.

Note 44,100 = CD quality audio.

Thank you for your answer and help! (Liked your answer about lateral thinking, use it a lot!)

I think I tried the other options, but will try again. The program I use is Magix easy video saver, ver. 4.0
