How do I prevent my S-VHS from becoming to high and narrow?

I'm trying to convert my S-VHS tapes into files, but the result is to high and narrow! The sharpness and sound is good. What can I do with this?

Hi Arvid,

Can you provide a little more information about your setup, source material and program/capture settings? Sound like there might be some conflict between different aspect ratios.
