Hi,

Rather than answer your specific question I am going to refer you to this excellent series of answers that really solve most DVD burning problems  http://www.magix.info/us/dvd-burner-i-have-successfully-burned-several-copies.knowledge.811930.html

As for the "region" problem, that is a strange one.  Do you get the message when you try to play a file in Media Player, or only when you try to burn to disc or play back a disc that you burned with media player?  By the way, what country are you actually in?

Hi

I suspect the DVD region error is because your DVD drive has not been set to the correct region you are in.

As you do not say which version of Windows you are using, the answer is generic.  See this post about asking questions.

To check your DVD region and set it do the following - do not change any other settings:

Open Windows Explorer and right click Computer

Select Manage from the menu that opens, a new window will open

In the left pane click Device Manager

In the right pane click the small arrow just to the left of  DVD/CD-ROM to expand the device tree

You should now see your DVD drive(s)

Right click your DVD drive and select Properties from the pop up menu

Select the DVD Region tab

You should now see this pane

You will probably find the region is not set. Set your region to your country location, mine is set to Region 2 as you can see in the image, and click OK

Note: You can only change this 5 times after that your DVD drive will be locked to the final region selected

Close all the reamining open windows and dialog panes..

HTH

@johnebaker, sometimes I hate you because you give better answer than me, but mostly I love your answers!  Once again, well done and on the mark my friend LOL

I still think there are better DVD burners out there than MEP and the one that terrypin suggested is absoutely amazing, but you nailed the region thing perfectly.
