How do I insert a blank slide at any point within the slideshow for the purpose of providing a stand alone title, desriptive text or credits rather than have to superimpose the text on photos or video

For educational videos I have a need to insert blank slides which can then be used to add descriptive text. Many photos and video images are unsuitable for overlaying text upon them. The slides can then be used and are much more suitable for segmentation of subject material within the slideshow. This feature is available for instance within Windows Live Moviemaker.

Depending on which version of PhotoStory you have (you didn't say) and assuming that you downloaded and installed everything under Help, Free Download, then go to Effects, Design, Background, Color swatch, pick the one that you want and drag it to the timeline where you want. It is simply and image. If a message pops up, click on Ignore. Or, you can make your own image in an imaging software.

Thanks John. I would never have found it without your help. My current version is Photostory on DVD 2013 Deluxe.
